This is the story of my first time out and some advice from me to beginners:
This article wasn't written by A-1paintball.com

I've never been paintballing before, but I've always wanted to. Finally, the day came. I went to an indoor arena. For pictures of the place and info, go to www.paintballarena.com There are 4 floors in this indoor arena; the 1.basement, (very big smelly place with lots of places to hide),2. The street level, above basement with cars, motorcycles, etc. S.W.A.T. Van located here) 3.Another level that I don't know the name for, underneath catwalk) 4.And the catwalk. (Narrow walkway above everyone) The guns they rented out were the Tippman Pro-Lites, which I think were really great. For me, the accuracy was AWESOME!! I was expecting worst. I was really surprised. Well, here's my experience for all you newbies :)

Game 1: Capture the flag

This one is one of my favorites. Although I was shaking with fright & excitement, it is still my one of my favorites. The horn blew and I ran to level three and waited where I could shoot anyone that popped out of the stairs from the basement. (the other team started there) About a minute later, 2 guys popped out. POP!POP!POP! 3 of my team mates were shooting also, including my friend. I hit one! I've never shot a paintball in my life, and the second shot was a hit! Yes! that's a good sign! my friend got the other guy. Soon, my team leader sent me down in the basement to see if it was clear. It was, so we ran down and got there flag. Yes! we won!

Game 2: same

This time we started in the basement. I was guarding the flag. After about 13 minutes, I got bored and walked around. I saw some action near the stairs. A guy was shooting a few people and no one knew where he was! I looked up and realized I could see him a bit. POP!POP! shot twice. One hit. I'm not sure it broke or not, cause the horn just blew. That's all

Game 3: elimination; first team to kill all the other players

This is my worst game. We started at level 3 and they started on floor 2 far away. I turned around, and POP! POP!POP!I was hit 2 seconds in the game! Right in the chest! I yelled, "DEADMAN! HIT! OUT!" On the way to the resting place, I realized that it didn't break. Too late. When I went inside, I saw that my gun was shot also, and paint was all
over it! Oh well. At least my team won without me

I will skip some boring games

Game 5; tag the swat van one team has to defend the van, and one has to go and try to touch it

The horn blew, and we were defending. I was Hiding Behind a car near the van with my friend. After 2 minutes, someone started shooting at us. we couldn't see him, but he had to be on the catwalk. After some blind fire, a paintball exploded in front of my hand. It didn't hit, put paint splatterd on me. The ref thought it hit, and called me out.

Game 6; same

Horn blew and we scattered. First I tried my luck on the catwalk, but 3 people were shooting at me. I was at a bad angle and couldn't shoot back. I saw 2 teammates on the oposite end of the catwalk shooting down. I thought I could sneak up behind whoever they were shooting at, so I ran over there. There was 10 seconds left in the game by the time I got there. I couldn't see them, but I fired until time was out.( I almost hit a ref! :) ) when I was at the resting area, I heard someone with green paint all over his eye hat at the last second, some kid in black was shooting everywhere and hit him in the goggles! I laughed silently cause I knew I hit him

The last game: Top gun

My least favorite. top gun. they always do it last to see who the 'top gun' was. a first horn was blown, and we all found our hiding spots. I was in the corner on the catwalk. There was a guy underneath me, so when time for hiding was up, I started running across the catwalk, firing down near the swat van. Yes! I hit this really good kid near the swat van. i kept on running until i got to the end. POP! POP! POP! POP! I yelled "YEOWWWW!!!!!" THE GUY WAS 3 feet away! I called myself dead, returned the gun, and we left with our stories and our new welts.

My advice for you:

Wear gloves!

WEAR A CUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd wear a turtle neck.

Bring a friend!!!

If you're hit, don't call yourself out. this is VERY tempting.

Go at least once to see if you like it before you waste all your money on
equipment

Follow all the rules!!

Don't argue with the ref

Don't shoot your own teammates! (I've done this in one of my games i didn't post!!! boy, they were mad! :) )

Indoor Arenas are very intense. I think A beginner should start at an outdoor one, although the indoors are still A LOT of fun in my opinion.

Always follow you team leader(s). That makes you look a lot better to them, especially if you are the smallest guy and everyone is 4 years older than
you!
