Rate of Fire, for those of you who are not too familiar with the term it simply means how fast a gun can waste paint per second. Most of you have heard of the gun the Angel which claims to shoot 16 balls per second. And I think that everyone has heard of the notorious of guns the Autococker and the Automag. Guns like these are lighting rods. They fire faster then I could run away from a grotesque chick. Anyhow If you are one who feels manly because your gun can shoot 16 balls per second then so be it you are a rich and spoiled person. Most guns can shoot as fast as an Angel, but only with gas and no paintballs. The truth about rate of fire is that there is a pesky problem with getting a fast rate of fire. You have to rely on those damn hoppers which feed your gun. The fastest one that I know can feed about 10-12 balls per second. So all of you with your Angels and your VL-2000 shredders or 12v Revolutions. Guess what you can only shoot 10-12 balls per second. Which means that your expensive toy that you thought was really cool can only shoot 10-12 balls per second. Well if after reading this you feel disgusted by the truth and want a refund don't worry here is another piece of information that might help you. Basically all guns are controlled by your finger. Most fingers can only pull about 6-8 balls a second. So how does the Angel and the Automag RT able to claim such a ridiculous rate of fire. That is because they use a computer to pull the trigger and they don't feed it paintballs. I've heard naive people talk about how they just traded their Automag which they just spent a grand on for an RT because it fires faster, and I've heard of people who trade in their nice STO Autococker they just bought for an Angel because it promises 4 more shots a second. Here is a piece of advice. Don't trade your gun for something more expensive because you want a higher rate of fire. It is a waste of your money. I don't suggest anyone to get anything more then an Autococker or an Automag. Because those two guns even with a high price tag isn't really that high for a hardcore paintball player. As a matter of fact it is perfect. I personally recommend an Autococker, but that is just personal preference. So next time some cocky person on the field starts talking about how he can shoot 16 times a second you can look him in the eye and tell him he is full of it. Or you can just laugh at him silently. Or you can preach to him just like I just preached to you.
